be a loyal fan of at this point in time ?

Question:
You have followed this team all your life, but right at this point in time it all looks so bleak and there appears to be no end in sight to the continuing misery. Could be administration/planning related or performance on the field or other. Basically aspects you have been hoping for a long time would change one day but now seems set to continue for much longer....... Your nomination is

Choices:
Pakistan
England
India
SA
WI

Surely it'd be the Windies, hands down. Then probably SA because they could have Sniff as their captain for another 10 years Eek

Windies have more than 50 tests in the last decade.

I think that says it all.

If Smith loses this series against India he is a goner. I reckon Prince will become King.

Pakistan (to an extent) - things were looking bright pre-England tour, where Pakistan were looking to establish themselves as number 2 in the world (on the back of series wins vs Eng, Ind and SL).

However much has changed - comprehensive loss vs Eng, Oval fiasco (although I believe their action was justified) and the drug incident involving their two best bowlers. The PCB's role in rescinding their suspension left a lot to be desired IMO, even though this makes them significantly stronger for the WC.

Surely you have to include Zimbabwe here? Or do Zimbabweans just not count?

And Bangladesh as an honorable mention?

Its always easy to be a Pakistan fan. It depends how much you love a nation. You acknowledge the flaws of the people who do wrong, but know that the living, breathing entity of Pakistan is not to blame.

It's hard being a loyal fan of Pakistan yet it's also very exicting because you can't predict anything....I'll give you some examples

You leave them at 26/6 at the opponent's back yard but later find out that they have won the test match (Kolkata 99)

You see them beat all the top teams in the world but then they go on to lose to BAN ( World cup 99)

You switch off the TV with the opponent needing 23 runs to win with 8 wickets in hands yet the next day you read in the paper that PAK had tied the game( Sharjah 99)

You see them beat AUS in AUS yet you send the same to the world cup and they knocked out in the 1st round.

You see them in a situation where the opponent is 255 runs ahead with 7 wickets in hand yet some how they come back to win by 7 wickets....(Wellington 03)

You expect the great pace bowling attack to perform extremely well yet they concede 2 innings defeats ( Multan+ Rawalpindi 04)

You leave them reeling at 29/6 with more than a day to go yet they some how manage to escape with a draw (Mohali 05)

You expect to capitulate in front of the Ashes champs just they hammer them 2 nil.

You see them slump to 39/6 yet come back to win by 341 runs (Karachi 06)

You see them concede a lead of 110 with the greatest spinner ever in the opponent's line up yet they come back to win by 8 wickets.(Kandy 06)

You go out for a cup of coffee with the score at 91/2 yet come back to see that they have been bowled out for 119( Old Traforrd 06)

You expect them surrender after one of the biggest controversy in cricketing history yet 24 hours later they come back to score a win(Jaipur 06)

On top this all you get the Oval fiascos, dummy captains, drugs, fights with in the team....all mixed in to a bottle of rum....got to love Pakistan cricket!

Now let's play cricket......

The same goes for India and Indian fans. The living, breathing entity as nicely put by Orbit being the Indian cricket team here.

Am a bit surprised that India hasn't got a single vote here. Maybe it'd have been different just after the ODI series or possibly will be after this second test. I can only hope not.

Thanks for the compliment Furriner... it was nothing more than a collection of facts and my genuine feelings about PAK cricket.
