5-0 is in some ways better than 4-1. Had England won the last test, there would inevitably have been some relief and it might have detracted from their poor performance in this series. There is no hiding from a whitewash and no doubt a thorough post-mortem will be required (akin to Aus post-Ashes 2005).

Panesar?

He's the only one who appears from this series unscathed, on the English side.........

There's not too many. I guess the fact that Giles has played his last test is a positive. Would Giles hold the record of most wickets for a bowler with a career average over 40?

The fact that countys will now be less parochial and will stop employing so many rubbish Kolpak players and try and encourage younger English players instead. Oh, thats never going to happen is it?

10 wickets at 57? I think you won the series in spite of Giles not because of him.

As he hit the winning runs in the 4th test and got a 50 which enabled KP to save the 5th?

This series positively confirmed for me that Pietersen, Mahmood, and Harmison are highly Santa. I still have my suspicions about Panesar.

Why are you posting on the C4 cricket forum when you should be watching the game Duncan?
