FWIW - Ponting is not yet superior to Steve Waugh or Allan Border, let alone SRT who is possibly in an All Time XI. Like Kallis, Inzi and to a lesser extent Dravid, Ponting has flourished in the easiest period for batsmen since the 20s (or possible even easier than then). SRT (like Lara and Waugh) had the high average in the 90s when most of the current stars were average in the mid 40s.

This sums it up all. I don't think there is any further need to comment on this topic.

Everyone is entitled to there own opinion, but the stats remain the same.
Statistically, Ponting is superior to Tendulkar.

Okay, here it is, then: Stats mean shoite!
In the beginning, there was GoD. GoD only DoG. GoD only DoG only DoG only GoD. Ad inf.

After the recent series id definately go with Tendulkar.
Charlie Chaplin was almost as great as me.

You can't toss up averages without strike rates. Boycott for example. So plugging Dravid with his high average is pitiful logic. Tests are won on strike rates these days.
Last year I would have said Ponting.
My how things change.
Let's wait till they gold plate their box protectors.

Stats may facvour ponting for now, but it will always reamin that Tendulkar batted with the greats and was one of them, when cricket was in early days, since then to the convinience of Ponting, he is an Australian and lets face it, since the West Indies legends went Australia have pretty much dominated world cirkcet for a very long time, as such Tendulkar has faced this legendary side more then enough times always being in the underdog team. He has faced the harder attacks as his list includes that which ponting h as never faced, and also, are we all forgetting ODI's introduction, Sachin is next to, if not a GOD in INDIA, and for his massive incredible career, he ahs carried Indian hopes all over the world, in ODI's he has smased any one who even attempts at reaching his 41 centuries, + more if we are lucky, and that being said, hiim being older it must have a huge affect on his body to the ounger ponting, with both formats mixed, I would reate Sahcin as the best any day and every day, by the end of his career. he will have the most runs both forms of the game and it will be unfortunate to see him go. As for the centuries, I would say that Ponting might jsut take that, but ODI's Sachin will remian the icon that he is. SACHIN ALL THE WAY, HE IS THE BETTER MAN.

Tendulker will become India's Bradman both in prestige and integrity.
Like Bradman he will be held in awe after he retires.

To be honest, I always thought that the real competition was between Ponting and Dravid, not now obviously as Ponting appears to be in such better form, but if you look at thier stats, ,inus the hundreads, they are almost neck and neck in runs and averages, and even matches i think, Tendulkar showed it again today, he is better then ponting and Punter can not ever match up to him no matter what stats and all time greats tables say.

Sadly the mouse thinks he's the life of the party. Ask Dello I bet he hopes he migrates here permanently.
