Murali is a no brainer for spinner- but quickie is a more difficult one. Pollock is way past it, Shoaib a druggie.

Any thoughts?

No clear number 1 really.

Apart from pollock who isn't the force he once was there really isn't a great quick around right now.

Hmm, Brett Lee apparently. If you want someone of the incredibly high calibre of Chris Read out, he's your man.

If you have any young sons, teach them to bat not bowl.

Asif was a good young bowler but after getting away with taking steriods i can't see him as a test match bowler now.

Pollock's still as good. He's not become any more a spent force than McGrath.

In the beginning, there was GoD. GoD only DoG. GoD only DoG only DoG only GoD. Ad inf.

he already is, he's averaging about 40 in his last 10 tests and he's much younger than mcgrath.

mcgrath never went through a run as poor as that.

probably Ntini (at home), and Clark all around. Pollock is still economical but not as threatening as before

Both of course unless he serves the penalty for steriod use.

True - like Warne/Shoiab their careers should be viewed with some scepticism pre-drugs test. But I agree both him and Shoiab should pay the penalty for their drug use - ignorance is not an excuse.

It's a shame because he seemed like such a promising bowler.

Doesn't make much sense as far as warne goes.

unlike pakistan players he was tested year in year out for all sorts of drugs for his entire career and was clean except for one diet tablet.

Thankfully he owned up like a man should and served his time unlike the pakistan players who were pinged the very first time they were tested and for steriods of all things and yet they still lie through their teeth.

sad state of affairs.

I was going to say that Sreesanth hasn't yet proved himself against a good cricket team, then I realised that apart from Australia there aren't any.
