Both excellent. I honestly can't split them.

Boucher is fortunate that he was able to start his Test career much earlier than Gilchrist, who had to wait for Healy to depart before he could start taking catches.

Can't see Boucher's catching record being broken in the near future unless South African selectorial silliness intervenes ... oh, wait.

Kamran Akmal is young enough to hang around long enough to give the record a shake, but that's stretching the crystal ball a bit.

true, Boucher will go down as the best ever.

Judging by your name yes.

When Boucher retires in will hold the record in both tests and ODI's.

It's a bit odd that anybody thinks most test catches would = best test keeper.

Bit like saying anybody who finishes with more runs than sir don must have been a better bat.

Boucher is a club pro type. Though to his credit he is better than Geriant Jones.

He also loses points for his ordinary work into the stump mics. "Lark it Harry" etc in a ridiculous sounding voice.
One of the best sledging exchanges ever heard clearly via stump mike was during the last Saffie-Lankan series in Yarptown. Bouch was struggling to overcome brilliant Yarp impressions by Sanga. He resorted to insinuations that Sanga needed to have his "Kimbies changed". Sanga just laughed at him.

What about Sanga asking Prince why he doesn't sit with the rest of the team. Quality sledging, though a little controversial
Aye, Sanga is a class act in the "stick-it-up-em" stakes.

i agree. another classic from sanga was when harbhajan came out to bat in half-sleeves, as opposed to the full-sleeves he uses when he bowls. sanga asked him 'why dont you wear half-sleeves when you bowl, you look pretty good in them'. bit rich coming from murali's team-mate, but bloody funny

That doesn't mean he'll be remembered as the best keeper of all time, just the most prolific.

Boucher is still 19½ short of Healy's 119 tests, but with 383 dismissals he is only 12 dismissals short of Healy's world record 395.

The force be with you.

Most dismissals in tests is a landmark that I'm sure any keeper would like to reach but as records go it really is pretty meaningless.

Boucher is no where near Gilly as a keeper to pace let alone spin. And Gilly was no where near Healy.

Gilly is probably better than Bouch, Both are light years ahead of Healy

As a keeper Gilly isn't good enough to carry Healy's kit bag.

Same.

Although I have a slight justification: he always looks like he is about to burst into tears. Annoying.

Could only be posted by a jingoistic Aussie who can never admit that a saffie can be better.

Lets face it, Aus have already moved to the SA colours.
