What an exciting talent he looks. The bat speed he generates with his hands is awesome. Could turn out to be NZ's best batsman since Martin Crowe. He should be in the NZ Test side at the next opportunity.
Hold on fellas - he's only played a handful of games!
I've never seen him bat but his stats in one day internationals look quite good. To score 80-odd in relative quicktime against Australia is pretty good too.
New Zealand desperately need a solid middle order player in the absence of Styris and Oram. McMillan's just a pie eater.
He looked excellent at Bellerive yesterday. Peter Fulton also looked very capable. But the shot of the day was Fleming's effortless clipped-off-the-toes six.

Have to agree with this Lardy. Of all the sixes hit, that was by far and away the classiest shot of them all.

Supreme timing.
Fleming is a classy player. Only a few technical difficulties have hindered his career. Otherwise, he's quite good.
For the first time yesterday, Peter Fulton showed why New Zealand see something in him. Im still not 100% convinced by him though. I think Hamish Marshall might be a better all round option.
There's another young Kiwi batsman called Jessie Ryder who also has rave reviews.

I very vaguely recall Mudge making the same statements about Hamish Marshall after he made a ton against us two years ago.
----------------------------- "Cameron Leon White (b. August 18, 1983 in Bairnsdale, Victoria) is an Australian cricketer, and can hit a ball further than any man in the world. His six hitting has left the laws of science in tatters, with his biggest ever six, at Somerset's ground, Taunton, measuring a staggering 914 metres from the bat to the landing point." - Wikipedia
I'll stick my neck out now and say Taylor is a lot better prospect than Marshall. For starters, he can hit the ball over the rope. Good fielder as well.
Why continually open with Sinclair/Vincent and stick Hamish Marshall in the middle order when they seem so much more suited temperament-wise and technique-wise to vice versa?
I thought Lou Vincent was doing a pretty good job at the top of the order, but because he made an innocent statement about preffering the middle order if he had a choice, he was axed.
