Sri Lanka's champion allrounder Sanath Jayasuriya said that whoever tries to emulate his feat of scoring 12,000 runs and 300 wickets in ODIs will have to work really hard for it and also have luck on his side.
It's hard to place much significance on it as an achievement, you normally expect it to be 2000 runs and 200 wickets etc but this is just a batsman who happens to have taken quite a few wickets in ODIs through a long career. I'd place more significance on 4000 runs and 400 wickets in all-rounder terms
He was better as a bowler during his brief stint in T20 this year. On another note his fielding was laughable, i know he's getting on a bit, but a current Bob Woolmer would have been quicker.
