Where was this actually said? I read that KP and 3 others hadn't gone, and speculated that Mahmood and Panesar might not have gone because being Muslim and Sikh they don't celebrate Christmas?

They should have attended any such gathering. Its poor taste to avoid a party held by a team you belong to. May create a "us" and "them" situation. There is no harm in celebrating Xmas, they are not compelled to accept the faith behind it.
I celebrated Xmas et al with friends from different faiths, it builds bridges.

He is popular, kids love him and he's a nice guy. But if you think he's on the same level as Freddie, KP and others who are known to be "party" guys - you'll be very much disappointed.
