Read, GoJo, Tres, Gilo. All decent players in their way who contributed to a pretty successful period for England.

If we don't see the end of Fletch, I reckon we'll see more of Giles and Jones. And I think Tresco will come back.

Nah Tres is a busted flush I think. Shame as the openers failings in this series really emphasize what he brought to the team. Can't see any of the others playing again.

I still think Read could do a job at no.8, with Flintoff at 7 and Collingwood/Bell/Pietersen as the 5th bowler. You certainly can't fault Read's keeping.

The Ashes came home, now they're off to Convict Country once again

Read might be able to do a job at number 10, anything else is beyond him.

I wish I could agree with you, Rob. I don't think for one second Giles or Jones should play again, but then, I didn't think they should have played a part here, either.

I still miss Thorpe.
I keep thinking he's still going to come back like that scene in the Sound of Music when Maria decides to come back.
These are a few of my favourite things.....

I would prefer Jones to be recalled rather than them picking Read again.

Given the selectors pigheaded refusal to pick Luke Sutton,I think Foster has to be the best bet for the summer at least.

I think Luke Sutton is over 30. They seem to embrace ageism. Foster, or Prior, I think.

Damn right, good hands that kid.

Sutton is a damn sight better batter than Wissy Wead......

If he plays, I'll eat my hat. With some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

If he's all that's on offer. I thought Nixon should have been picked ten years ago. Just a shame Stewie and Jack Russell were ahead of him.

Yeah he was a decent prospect then- went on a couple of A tours I think.

He was a prospect Rob, that's for sure. He's about 36 now, I think, but does martial arts and stuff. Still a fairly fit - and probably fearless - lad. But too old, in the opinion of those that count.

I agree...maybe Shah to replace Collingwood in the middle order.

I didn't know that, Rob. I'm not a big ODI fan, so I missed it. Stewie went on til 40, I think, so we shall see,

206 came in one innings, on a friendly pitch. I'm not a big Colly fan in terms of skill, but he has heart, which is someting a few can take note of.
