Really quite annoying as we deserved to win that game but then we've been saved by the rain a few times I am sure!

Pleased our bowlers have done well again though.

What a crock. England have been royally shafted here. Why was bad light offered when 2 slow bowlers were on? And why did Bucknor miss a stone dead LBW?

Would the fielding team been offered the bad light had the situation been reversed? Umm don't think so. The whole thing stinks, and India have been given a huge get out jail card they do not deserve.

That was the final straw I think, but it had been building up for a while for various reasons.

The lbw decision was dreadful and the light was good enough with 2 spinners on. India can count themselves extremely lucky.

The thing that annoys me is that Vaughan never even challenged the umpires' decision. Something not right about that decision. The way it was accepted was laid back even for an England captain.

And did anyone see that pathetic interview between Atherton and Dhoni? One of the most sycophantic things I've ever seen on TV. Atherton's sucking up was stomach turning. How on earth could he be congratulated on a "match saving knock" when the game was abandoned due to bad light, with 9 wickets down?

England were cheated today out of a legitimate test match win by two gutless umpires. To make matters worse, an even more gutless ex-captain proceeded to pander to the opposition wicket keeper.

Pathetic day for cricket and cricket commentators.

There is no such thing as an objective opinion.

England weren't positive enough when setting the total, didn't plan for the rain and some of the bowling tactics to Dhonki were terrible.

Pietersen's tactics batting with the tail were painful at times, we then dragged on too long in adding a few runs. I suspect Vaughan may have looked at wasting overs so India had less in theory to chase down with ie higher run rate. We batted on as if weather forecasts had never been thought of let alone widely available. And then we cap it off when closing in on the win by bowling too short, too often to Dhonki instead of pitching it up.

Without the weather we might have won, had we been more positive and also bowled fuller we still might have won. Only Captain Ego could still insist on trying to set 400 on a pitch neither side passed 300 on

My view is diffrent.

Though the socreline show 0-0, Englishmen gained more positives than Indians.

It's an up-hill task for the Indians to break the shackles.

Indians need bit more aggressive openers (atleast one), to have any advantage over the Englishmen.

Karthik can be quite an aggressive player.

The scoreline 0-0 is really what matters. I wouldn't put it past the Indians to score 600 at Trent Bridge and bat England out of the series...

My gut feeling is that Indians are not going to score 600 (or anywhere near that) in any of the matches. This line-up is not upto the task.

I suppose he might have had some old fashioned sporting idea about it being the umpire's job to decide if it was out. Might even have had the harebrained notion that his protesting at the decision wouldn't have caused it to be reversed.
(Take your point though, Twueless Clat.)
