25-Jun is quite a historic date in Indian cricket.

This was the day 75 years back (against Eng at Lord's) that we started playing int'l cricket and became 6th test playing nation.

This was the day when Kapil's no hopers (tipped 1000-1 to win WC'83) shattered hopes of all conquering Lloyd's WI of completing the hattrick of WC titles.

BCCoarIab releases dates for 50th year celebrations

I've prepared for the worst case scenario ...but it could be even worse than that

It's really a day for Subi cricket isn't it?

A lot of the Indian players in the early years must have been from what is not Pakistan.

Either way, good stuff.

From CK Nayudu to Rahul Dravid.

Hope the Indian team beats England in the tests for some real double celebrations.

Yep.

3 out of India's first test XI went to the other side of border after the partition in '47.

Going back to that test at Lord's, Mohd Nissar and Amar Singh made quite a name for them. Nissar reduced Eng 2/11 on the opening morning and then Amar Singh quickly snared the all important wicket of Wally Hammond. Mohd Nissar ended up taking 5/93 in Eng's first innings.
