I just can't understand his timid approach over the last three years or so.
Sachin Tendulkar used to dominate bowlers, hit spinners off their lengths etc. etc. That's what made him a great player - his ability to dominate.
Now that he's almost entirely retreated into his shell, he is no longer the great player he once was. India have suffered badly from his new-found approach to batting. Poking and prodding just isn't Tendulkar's style. HIT THE BALL, FFS!!!!!
The decline started with his 241* at Sydney, IMO. Curbing his attacking instincts and playing only on the leg side was all fine and commendable given the situation and his form then, but maybe too much praise was lavished on that one innings that made him completely change his approach. The multiple problems with his back (pre-2003?), shoulder, elbow haven't helped either.
In the beginning, there was GoD. GoD only DoG. GoD only DoG only DoG only GoD. Ad inf.
