Both side competed well. PAK lost the match in the last 3 overs of the 1st innings with Styris and B Maccullum playing some awesome stroke and off course Flemming was brilliant both as a batsman and as a skipper. Overall i am not too unhappy with PAK's performance but at the same time i would like Afridi and Younis to play a bit better against SA.
Rameez Raja was saying that Pak lost yesterday just because they couldn't counter the short pitch stuff hurled by Bond & co at them. He also said this is because all of them are talented, but technically not very efficient to counter hostile bowling on a true pitch.

Wasn't this the reason for the failure of SriLankan batsmen against SA's bowlers who bowled aggressively?
Group B's matches have been much more interesting.

I think he is playing as 'a bowler who can bat' in the team. Don't you think so?
I don't think he'll be able to get through the new ball bowled by good pace bowlers. And Indian pitches have life for the entire match in this tournament.

We gave far too many runs away 270 was allways going to be a tough ask on that pitch.
Our bowling lacks teeth and we can't even keep the rr down i mean Rana ffs, he used to take wickets to make up for his poor econ but he does not even do that anymore, Gul is our only effective bowler atm, imo we need to bring in Arafat for the next game and take out Iftikhar/Rana, if i was YK i would let Hafeez, Malik and Afridi bowl 30 overs just to keep the rr down then chase.

It was Bond who did the most damage the rr was around 8 when he started bowling short, imo it was a very good tactic it's very difficult to hit a boundery off a ball that is comming into your chest, if he bowled like that in normal circumstances the batsmen would have been fine.

Oram was getting a lot of lift and some of the "bouncy off cutters" were quite hard to handle but overall Malik and Yousuf did a fair job against him. The only disappointing thing from the batting point of view was that the best batsman got out to relatively poor balls; Farhat just slashed at a short and wide delivery, YK was out playing a full-blooded cut shot and Yousuf chipped a half volley start to the cover fielder. Having said that I also feel that Fleming had a very good plan against all the batsmen perhaps the occasional “lose” balls were a part of the plan.
Well pakistans bad luck they come up against a pitch which has good bounce and its not like the pitches we normaly get here so thats one thing that went against pakistan.. and i m sure Match against SA we will face the same thing...
They should drop RANA and Afridi include Faisal Iqbal and Yasir Arafat.. there is no time to continue with out of form players..
