I wouldn't mind having Darren Sammy in the side as his bowling in helpful conditions can be pretty impressive.

Do they actually have a spinner who can bat though?

Banks and Mohammed would be superb number 8's in the batting order. My worry is their bowling is not good enough. For me, Jaggernauth is a potentially good off spinner at any level, but he is more of a number 10 batsman.

Ryan Hinds is scoring truck loads of runs in domestic cricket. In fact he was the leading run scorer last year. But off the pitch issues have kept him from the team (e.g he has bad mouthed Sir Viv on previous occasions).

I would not want to give Mr Lewis the opportunity to increase his average from 388Smile

Doesn't he have the highest test bowling average in history?

I personally rate Jaggers as a better spinner than Dave Mo. He spins the ball a fair amount and has a pretty good doosra. If Ganga gave him more overs he would take just as many wickets as Dave Mo. I really hope Jaggers gets a chance on the tour of England, or at least an A team tour.

I certainly will not complain if Jagguernath is picked but I do rate Mohammed as a better bowler but as you say that may be because Ganga always turns to Mohammed first and also Mohammed is a better batsman.

Turn it up.

Hinds never convinced me. He alwys struck me as someone who did everything ok but nothing well. He was often dropped during his runs binge last season. I will wait to see what he does again this season before he is picked again.

Turn it up.

What is it with these young Windies players bad mouthing Viv? Gayle once did it, Marlon Samules did it, and now Ryan Hinds has done it.

The Vivmeister seems to have become the Simmo of the West Indies, which is kind ironic when you consider the healthy mutual disrespect they hold each other in since the 1991 tour, which they've both written about.

Back in the 80s the Oz selectors couldn't make any change to the team without some Daily Moron tabloid journo in Oz whining, '(insert lame of local hero of choice) got dropped for calling Simpson a wboatstabiliser!' when in fact they were dumped on form or for some other equally mundane reason. Simmo could be precious and vindictive and a control freak, to be sure, but it became too convenient altogether to blame him for every decision you didn't like. The same thing might be going on with IVAR.
