Fells Pietersen with a bouncer, sending him to hospital for scans

Not bad for a Paul Collingwood paced washed up old hack! Smile

At great risk of jinxing tgm for the rest of the summer, he has had it all over KP recently.

Very very very smart bowler.

Yes, walk up to pace bowlers all summer at your own risk.

He's always had a weakness for the short one. Hasn't got the technique to play test cricket. A dominant front foot player.

Glen McGrath

21 wickets, average 23.90 (second best of the series), best 6-50, s/r 59.7, econ. 2.40

Including ripping out Cook and nightwatchman Hoggard in an over after spending all day in the field in scorching heat Smile

IIRC he has had it all over KP recently. Not bad for a Paul Collingwood paced washed up old hack, eh? Wink

I think both Pietersen and McGrath will see the funny side to what has happened.

I see that Spanky Roebuck is on his periodic "McGrath is over the hill campaign". Basically said in yesterdays SMH that McGrath may not be worth a spot in the WC squad.

He's been saying this for about 3 years now.

and in about 3 years time he would be right

Even Bill Lawry was trying to start the "he won't go to the world cup" stampede the other day. needless to say shortly thereafter he took a wicket and cleaned up KP.

Certainly Oz has a fair number of reasonable quicks at the moment, but for the world cup you need GM's class and experience. If any of the test quicks position is in doubt for the WC I reckon it is Clark.

What a nob.

What's tgm's record since his return in the last six months? Probably an rpo of under 3.5 with an average of 20-22.

His six hitting has left the laws of science in tatters, with his biggest ever six, at Somerset's ground, Taunton, measuring a staggering 914 metres from the bat to the landing point." - Wikipedia

Also worth pointing out that we managed to concede the two world record run chases without him in the team.

Ross?

What is the second. The first is 438 against RSA.

He played in the test where the Windies chased 418. That is the game he had is spat with Sarwan.

He certainly looked very ginger in his first spell the other night. In fact he seems to take untill his second spell now to get into the zone, which is the opposite of what people said would happen before the Ashes.

Actually Babbling Bill said that AFTER he took his wicket, and also said "with Clark bowling well" his spot is not safe Mad

Referring to the then-record 325 the Kiwis chased down in an ODI in December 2005. And the match before they only fell two runs short while chasing an almost identical target.

Pidge has to go to the Windies for the Cup. Subi just isn't an ODI bowler - he's a reverse Blee: great for Tests, useless in JAMODIs.

Aye and we all wish the selectors would see that. Have Hilf and Midge in the test side alongside Clark. Have a bowling lineup of tgm/Lee/Bracken/MJ/Hilf in JAMODIs.

Why should he give a crap? Pietersen has been walking down to him all summer. He was bound to cop a bounder in the ribs sooner or later.
