The selectors need to have more faith in County Cricket when it comes to selecting ODI players for England.
Only The Gravenator and Geoff Miller watch county cricket.
The other selector, Duncan Fletcher, doesn't bother.
Given that there's some nine games going on at any time, it's pretty sad that only two of them get watched by people employed to know as much as possible about every English player.
This winter's A team might not look too crash-hot, but at least Peter Moores has shown some kind of knowledge of the county game and an imagination for the less vaunted players around by selecting guys like Will Jefferson and Michael Carberry.
Perhaps, as they did with Rod Marsh, the Academy coach should be bumped up to senior selector status, as he would appear to have a greater appreciation of what's going on in county cricket than any of the other three.
