Haven't been on these forums for a few years. Used to be packed when England were playing, where are all the regulars. Forgotten their names to be honest, Jasper, G man.

England are not doing very well, other than the fact it is because they are just pants and English kids don't play sport these days (They tend to just drive round on mopeds and hang out around conveneint stores) are there any other reasons?

Read a thread at the top of the forum, people decided they didn't like the hours and went elsewhere. A busy forum is now a morgue, management do tend to make stupid decisions

Given the latest England batting disaster, is it not time to admit that Duncan Fletcher was right; especially his insistence that teams bat deep?
Ashley Giles was very much missed in New Zealand.

Obviously they don't care which makes it worse.

You must be jokin, this can not possibly start up again, bats men are supposed to make runs and bowlers take wickets, yes it helps if both can give extra but they HAVE to give what they are SUPPOSED to and PAId to do. giles was not a wicket taker and the way england collaspesd people seem to be missing I think was also because of some very good bowling, now atre you telling me that if the NZ boys got all of the enlgnads best out at the top and middle that one 20 averiging exuse for a bowler would change that, didnt think so, he would have gone like the rest, and people I also think should keep in mind that Bell batted very well despite his injury which was a small but noticable bright spark. Duncan fletcher was a fool of a coach and moores is better I think, gtake Sidebottom for example, with Fletcher coachin, not a chance in hell he would be bowling, with that wierdo it had to be his little gourp of ashes winners, regardless of the fact that Harmison can bowl 90+ on ocassion, from my expericne of the game, it tends to help if those delioeveries are on target and not wides to SECOND SLIP.

The truth is that England's bowling attack hasn't looked like taking 20 wickets in a very long time.

I struggle to see how Harmison can continue to keep his place in the side. There'll be alot of egg on faces should he keep his place at Wellington and produce another insipid display.

STOP talking about the Ashes.
STOP talking about Flintoff until he is match fit.
STOP talking about Simon Jones or Marcus Trescothick - we will NEVER see them play for England again, unfortunately.

Invent a new strategy with the team you've got. NO MORE EXCUSES.

By the way, I do recommend Duncan Fletcher's book: Behind the Shades. An excellent read and one that explains the decline of England since he departed.

A fire he started i think, yes the 05 ashes was thier peak but am I right to say that there was no Mcgrath and Warne towards the end and through out it in the main, major factor i think., agreed with nimrod.

I havnt been on here for ages because this forum just died in the butt when they introduced forum opening hours. Made it like a pommy pub. My self"k/k/k"..Laggers...Taily " JC etc etc just gave it a miss for a while as it was unfriendly to Australian zone time.
But I knew i would be back one day. Give it another go.

Agree.

Pity the poor buggers can't help sniping instead of contributing.
