Sure, there was a laughable batting collapse, but we're used to that. The fielding was what really struck me. There was hardly an over without a fielding error.

Clues are there for all to see, Flintoff didn't open the bowling and barely bothered bowling - England were resigned to defeat. Judge them when there's a proper contest

In the inaugural Ireland v England ODI, Ireland out-fielded England comfortably. I think it's a symptom of the morale of the side; it wasn't good then, and it isn't good now. They have been better, such as against Pakistan.
