I would loose a batter and a keeper from this lot.

Probably Read as the keeper, and the batter is a toss up between Bell and Strauss.

Really is a poor 30 man squad to be honest.

Out of all the Test playing nations, only Zimbabwe and Bangladesh will announce squads worse than that. Pretty much sums up England's chances.

And the even more worrying part is I think i've canned the real carp ones out of the 30 man squad.

I do seriously belive that Mal Loye could do a very good job up top of our batting.

Pietersen may not be fit in time for the Gilly. He certainly won't be match fit and practised.

Sorry Rob, I meant Read would be the keeper to go from the squad and maybe Strauss or Bell as the batter to lose out.

Charles, fair dos. Would leave out Bell out of the two as Strauss is probably better at rotating the strike.

Perhaps. I when through the 30 man squad and 13 of the names are not even that great at FC level. Is a joke really how bad our resources seem to be, or moreover the fact that they seem to overlook those who probably should get a chance.

Largley the fault of the counties wasting all their resources on rubbish overseas and Kolpak players and neglecting the grass roots......

They put all the county player's names in a hat and each selector picks 10. Rather than picking the best players. I thought a rankings system for county players similar to the LG rankings would be a good idea. Selection meetings would take 10 minutes.

If you play for England and your Test batting average drops below 40.00 and bowling goes above 30.00 you should be dropped. This would not apply to allrounders. In ODIs if you don't make a century (batsmen) in a series or take 4 wickets (bowlers) then you're out.
In the whole of 2006 we got 2 100's (Tres) and 1 four wicket haul (Ali) and neither are in the team now.
