There have been 3 instances in Tests where more than more than one century stand occurred for the same wicket i.e. someone retired and the replacement added a further 100. What 3 instances?
This would have happened in the recent test between India & Bangladesh when the first wicket fell at 408. Three century partnerships for the 1st wicket.

Wisden Cricket Monthly clearly didn't. Their take in the Nov 2001 edition was as follows:
"I-u-H declared himself 'dehydrated' upon reaching his hundred and promptly lumbered back, retired hurt, to his comfortable wicker chair in the dressing room."
In the 5th test of 1981/82 against England, Vengsarkar and Viswanath added 99 for the 2nd wicket before Vengsarkar retired hurt. Viswanath then added 300 odd with Yashpal Sharma for a combined 3rd wicket stand of 415 (which was the clayton's test record 3rd wicket stand at the time).
