Okay, instead there'll be a series of knockouts, with teams ranked in descending order of the number of letters in the name and then by reverse alphabetical order.


So first Netherlands and South Africa will play off, and the winner will take on West Indies, and the winner of that will take on New Zealand...

and finally the winner of the 14th match takes on India in the final.

i'd pay to watch that. i bet the attendance would be higher than the current World Cup matches.

Although they may have fallen out with the ICC by then and boycott the next World Cup. The ICC will probably metaphorically give the BCCI 'head' (for want of a way of putting it that the system won't reject) in the shape of hosting the next competition.
