Yea but we don't have a right to complain because remember last year when ENG came in we prepared green tops for the warm-up games.

Seaming tracks will help pakistan too we have a good a fast bowling attack and south africans were not very good at facing good seam swing bowling vs india
Although after the resignation of waqar i hope the improvement we saw in our fast bowlers does not dissappear

Interesting to see the "Rest of SA" team has a bowling attack weaker than any of the other teams that also played in SA this weekend. No Langeveldt, Zondeki, Morkel Jr, Alfonso Thomas, Tsotsobe, Henderson or Volkswagen? Of the bowlers selected, only Kruger could realistically be termed an international prospect, and then only if two or three other fringe players were injured. Even more interesting is that the batting line-up is made up of genuine international prospects, Dippenaar excluded.

Could it be that SA management feel settled with their bowlers at the moment and are not willing to make significant changes there, but they are looking hard at the batting? In which case, JP Duminy needs to put his hand up and do something noteworthy right now (if he ever gets a chance to bat).

Looking at trhe team makeup it is clear that 2 players were selected from each franchise so as not to weaken them too much for this weekends games.

They still picked crap bowlers.

Dippenaar opening the batting for RoSA and is currently on 3*. I hope he gets hit on the helmet and falls on his wicket.

Is amla in the SA team for reasons other than his batting?

Surely he's not one of the best players in the country?

he barely looks first class standard.

Good to see you back in the land of the living Bliks. Where have you been? Cant think of anything cooler than forumming every day, so you must have broken a hand or something, and therefore been unable to type?

I went on holiday for 3 weeks, but now I'm back. I see I missed a rare Jeff sighting in my absence.

What the hell do the South African selectors see in Gulam Bodi? To quote Geoff Boycott- If he's a potential Test batsman then my backside is a fire engine.

They see nothing in him as far as I know. Why do you think they see anything in him?

Well he's opening the batting for what is effectively a South African A team, ahead of guys like Puttick and Alviro Peterson.

Why do Pak never start a series smoothly FFS, Waqar resign as bowling coach, Yousaf not playing test match due to his wife's operation(and his father died two weeks ago), Inzi did not bat in the side game despite being in the team (another injury ?)

This isn't really an SA 'A' team at all, as can be seen by the bowling attack chosen.

I think the SA selectors are most interested in finding middle order batting prospects at the moment, which is why they've selected all 3 of Duminy, Van Jaarsveld and Arno Jacobs have been selected.

Duminy just got out for 29, the twit.

Eh? Pollock not in the Test squad? That interesting. Obviously they are resting him for the World Cup? Still seems a very strange decision. You dont rest one of your best players from a Test match.
