Poor Poms. Hard enough to play the best team in the world without having to carry a fat Zimbabwean.

Was he chaired off? Confused

FTR - Australia were 10 for 10 in 2006.

I can't think that any team has won each of 10+ tests in a calender year before.

Mike Hussey and Andy Symonds have only ever know wins and a single draw in their test careers. Stuart Clark has only known wins.

I am really hoping we can at the very least fight this game out. A win would be great but a decent showing would be a step forwards. Off topic what a beautiful coastline you have here. You also realise how much free space there is here after spending a long time in England.

Australia is 5% of the worlds land mass and the whole of England is no larger than the state of Victoria.

Happy New year Roy.

May the growth of the anti-Brit oak tree you carry on your shoulder reflect, in reverse, the rapid decline of your all conquering cricket team.
Your magnanimous gestures in victory now might yet return to haunt you 3 years hence.

Be at peace...and may your dairy farm flourish henceforth!

Happy New year Merlin

May God take pity on England and send some Australians to sort out the shambles that they call English cricket.

Be at peace and lets hope atleast one of your New year resolutions comes true in 2007........

Tough first day all round.

Highlight was texting Zim after Langer dropped that sitter saying "he's retiring a test too late".

My highlight was KOK getting stuck into the SCG ground announcer for thinking he was Jack Little.

Eng have the upper hand but they better watchout tomorrow when they face DW. Eng have this nervousness when they play DW's leg spin. Actually, Eng are the weakest at playing spin.

Anyhow, JAMAT.

Lee

FFS

Whilst I'll admit there were a few handy deliveries in his initial spell, he is still cRap.

15 wkts in four tests at an average of 40.

FFS, is he batting for the other team or what.

Lee is a must and I love his attitude. Very in your face but a very nice man outside.

I agree that he is a nice guy, he sold me a pair of slacks at Centrepoint Tower years back before he was a 'star' and worked in a men's tailor shop.

Why doesn't it surprise me to find he was an apprentice Mr Humphries?

But I don't want to support the nicest team in Cricket, I want to support the best. A Lee looks drastically out of place.

Has nobody spotted that Jimmy is in for Hoggard? Any reasons for this, surely fitness? Who will open the bowling with Fred?

The openers failed again having got 20's, Bell fails to get a ton again (apparently a peach of a ball). Not much new there.

Just listening to Ian Chappell's Cricinfo podcast - he seems to think England have finally got their batting order right.

Side strain apparently.

What the hell - give the new rock to Harmison and tell him to go for bust. His best is so much better than either Jimmy or Sarge and he has got better as the series has gone on.
