Symonds didn't walk and India blamed the Umpire firstly then Symonds for not walking.

READ MY LIPS

Apart from Gilchrist in the whole universe of cricket name one player who would have walked after being given not out in the exact same case?

Apparently the rule is if the ball is taken cleanly above the ground it's out.
The commentators were in agreement Silva was out on TV after twenty replays but on the ABC the Indian commentator said it was cleanly caught but grounded a second later,

The other ABC commentator said that is still out.

Anyone know the rule?
