People are clutching at straws with the rubbish talk about Strauss's Captaincy. England did not win every game when Strauss was Captain anyhow and the fact that the guy isn't having a great series with the bat himself is hardly the time to make him Captain again.
The idea is towards ensuring that Flintoff is freed from this additional burden not so deep rooted in Strauss' credentials as a Captain.

'clutching at strauss' subliminal pun noted

Keep a lid on it????

If Aus had performed as spinelessly and more importantly as idiotic as England have, I'm sure I'd have had a chuckle or two.

Probably makes me a bad person.

You'd probably have chuckled quietly in your room, though, not gloated oafishly on a public forum.

Yeah, you're probably right - although I did want to call Warne a fat adultering sook for his demeanor in the first 3 innings of this series, though he came back like the champion he is. His 43 and 4-29 really hushed my mouth.

Not surprised. The way Aus were going, it looked like it could've been big runs for him - he looked more than comfortable. Credit to Hoggy for making this Test less of an embarrassment than it could've been.

OK guys.

Let's be gracious.

There's still 2 Tests left.

Mind you, the beer is tasting pretty damn good atm.

Awwww, can't we just give one teensy-weensy little finger to all the 2005 Pom gloaters? Just once?

Of course you can, it's your right. But if you feel good after 400 and some days without that little vase, imagine how good we felt after 16 years!

Just a gentle reminder that the final challenge is still to be overcome.

Let's keep that lid in place just a little longer.

But man, I can't wait till tomorrow...

You're right. With such a strong tail, the ease in which we get Aus out and just our winning attitude should see us through. I'd expect nothing less being 20 runs ahead with 5 quality wickets in hand.....

Have dusted off the bottle of Booker Noe's bourbon that has been waiting for a suitable occasion to open.

It will sit on the table tomorrow until just before the match finishes.

I will pour one small, no, wait, what the hell, large drink when the margin gets down to single digits.

And should the moment of victory arrive, I will raise it high and drink a toast to Warne, McGrath, Langer and even Marto, who will no longer grace the baggy green.

I will then sip a little of the precious nectar from the glass.

I will then toast the team that won back the Ashes 5-0.

And sip a little more.

And I will enjoy the day.

Sounds great, Zogster. I've got the local publican to open early tomorrow (8:00 am here in Japan) so I can enjoy the broadcast from ball 1. Hope TGM/tgm can get the 2 wickets to take them to 1000.

Tell you what, I'll drink an additional toast to those Aussies scattered far and wide around the globe who couldn't be in-country when it happens.

Stuck in Japan? Sounds like you upset the antichrist.

Am I close?
