So now Pak's batting and bowling is below par.
Its a body blow for Pak to lose Younis Khan - he faired well last time Pak played in Lords. Also, I would have taken Malik over Farhat for his better discipline and fight in batting.
England should enjoy the batting today and try to build big lead.

Batting:
Tres v Salman = Tres wins
Strauss V Imran = Strauss wins
Cook V Faisal = Cook just wins (home advantage)
Pieterson V Inzi = Inzi wins
Collingwood V Yousaf = Yousaf wins
Bell V Afridi/Razzaq = Bell wins
Jones V Kamran = Kamran wins
Hoggard V Afridi/Razzaq = Afridi/Razzaq wins

Battingwise both teams are well balanced - Younis Khan would have made Pak stronger.

Bowling:

Hoggard V Sami = Hoggard wins
Harmison V Umar = Harmison
Plunket V Razzaq = Draw
Panesar V Kaneria = Kaneria wins
Colllingwood V Afridi = Afridi wins

Bowling again look balanced but is really dependent on what type of bowlers will get assistance from the pitch spinners or seamers.

Hoggard in but I think England will miss Flintoff. Shoib Aktar I think is a huge loss for Pakistan.

Pak giving away easy boundaries. Gul looks nervous according to cricinfo but generates good bounce, and sami's head falling away Big Grin
Strauss got over his edgy start with one close chance offered to slip.

Is this the England ODI bowling line up in disguise?

Tres and Strauss should fill their boots here, if the bats dont dont do anything silly and gift their wickets Eng should get 450+ here

Even Bell might score some runs ... or maybe not Wink

55/0 of 9 overs are we expecting rain???? I know England need to win this series and learn some killer instinct, and so far so good. How long this will last who knows. I would love flintoff to be playing but I feel a bit safer in having the extra batsmen more so with Geriant Jones batting.

Cook dropped as well are we seeing the pakistani fielders self destruct as they are prone to do in the past.

After the first 10 rubbish overs, Pakistan seems to be getting on top. Pietersen unlucky, I thought. Another bad lbw decision.

Razzaq is the big surprise and Gul, as expected, after the first butterflies, lives up to promise. Asif may have been deadly on this pitch. With Pietersen gone, I think the match is tilting Pakistan's way.

Disagree.
When it's close & you're not playing a shot you deserve to be given.

England heading for another score in the region of 200 to 250 - just not good enough. There seems to be a distinct lack of application. Even the A team scored almost 600 against the same bowlers last week. What's up with our senior players ?

Rubbish - the ball has to be hitting the stumps without a doubt - not "close" - playing a shot or not. Problem is, many umpires seem to think the same as you too, but them aint the rules.

Pietersen was dropped and now you are whinging about an LBW decision which looked very close indeed.

Different ground also to what the A team were playing on. Maybe this Lords pitch is more suited to bowlers this time around than it was against Sri-Lanka.

Fifty for Colly and yet another sound knock for Cook

Bell will have to score a ton to keep his place once Freds back, unless they drop Plunkett
