Ramps didn't get the support he needed when he was in the England setup. He's too old now, there's no point picking him unless we have a real injury crisis.

It's time to ressurect medium-fast spin bowling.

The set up has certainly improved since then and more support is given now, but it still shows some mental weakness in Ramps game. Players like Thorpe, Stewart and Smith all managed to average 40 during that period, playing under those conditions.

Well, you have to take the rough with the smooth. Still an innings to go.

Ran out Jon BAtty with a suicidal single in the first over after Newman had got out first ball to leave Surrey 0-2, and then got out for 7.

Other than that, had a cracking day.

If you're just one thing, you are consistent with your hero-worship of Ramps, Leo!
Not worth the effort mate ... the guy's a busted flush (the type activated by a chain)

This Ramps obsession is very worrying, it would be a bit like me having a thang for Doug Bollinger from 10,000 miles away Big Grin

Ramps is a champ. Bollinger's a chump.

29,000 first class runs up now, Ramps on to 79*. Also closing in on his 90th first class hundred.

Backward people advocate backward steps, Ramprakash should only be called up if the entire first choice XI was taken out by illness

Just let this thread die, then it'll be only Leo updating himself about what Ramps is doing.

If you have Ramps then you may as well go the whole hog and include Goughy as well.

Goughie, unlike Ramps did quite well in test cricket, made the most of his talent and never bottled it.

Ramps, the absolutely awesome batsman he is, remains unbeaten on 104, his 3rd ton in 4 games this season. 90 first class hundreds, 29,000 runs. What a genius that man is.

394 runs @ 78.80 so far this summer - 30,000 career runs by the end of the summer should be a walkover.

He is just so fantastic. They should make him bat in spandex to give the bowlers a chance. Big Grin
