I'm off for the next ten days and will miss the last Test, however it turns out, but there's something I wanted to get off my chest.

To all those Poms who talked last year about having this Test won, and that one in the bag, and only being denied by weather, all those who said (however seriously) that in 2005 you 'thrashed' us:

You call that a thrashing? Now this is a thrashing.

Thank you, have a good (and safe) New Year and don't make any resolutions you can't keep.
ciao

No, jonty, that's as far as I go in the 'gloating/getting one back' stakes. And ta.

And Sydney's going to be rained out anyway.

So many to choose from:

Call that a number three batsman? (cue another hundred from Ponting) That's a number three batsman.

Call that a wicket-keeper? (fifty balls, a hundred runs later) That's a wicket-keeper.

Call that a spinner?

Call that a fast bowler?

And, perhaps the most depressing moment of all: Call that an all-rounder? (Symonds clubs his way to 150) That's an all-rounder.

Yikes - it's been a pasting.

Nor I.
It's A Bloody Nightmare!
Irony is...Flintoff still believes England can win at Sydney and thus avoid the whitewash.

If only his brave but hollow words (monotonous since Brisbane 5 weeks ago) converted into runs, he'd be averaging 90 plus this series by now ...

Big Grin

He should just have made a tape that he could play at the end of every Test

"There's some tough lads in our dressing room"

"Australia played some fantastic cricket"

"We've got to come out next Test and show some fight"

"There's a lot of pride in our dressing room"
