Eid Mubarak from me too for all who celebrate this marvellous event. eid in most part of India will be on Wednesday when Pakistan will be playing their second game of the ICC tournament - hope it is a good one for them, especially as some of them would have kept as many fast as possible.
I've always wanted to know....is Happy Eid a proper greeting? Or is the proper greeting Eid Mubarak? Does Happy Eid Mubarak make any sense? Just wondering.

That's like asking whether Merry Christmas was a proper greeting or is Happy Christmas OK? It doesn't make much of a difference. Id Mubarak means - Congratulations on Id.
Yes, at the end of Ramadan, when the moon(Id ka chand) is seen.
Some of the muslim forummers here would know more than me though.

Why is that? (Just interested, as I know little about Eid Mubarak.)
Many reasons 1- Chance to take a day off from work and school. 2- Get to pray together with thousands of other Muslims ( this time the attendance was about 10,000) 3- Chance to meet my buddies and family. 4- Awesome food.
