Australia is obviously out of it, and England will of course now spend the next 18 months showering themselves with ticket tape parades and MBEs, so who's gonna take the Cup?

Yarpies looking good, but of course this IS a world cup so we can expect them to choke at some stage, same with India.

This could be a tournament for the minnows; Windies or Kiwis.

Thoughts?

Australia require another 176 runs with 6 wickets and 31.0 overs remaining

Anything but impossible!

Now let's play cricket......

Anyway, back on topic...

Two teams in recent times have taken games off Australia...West Indies and now England...

So it has to be the Windies...

Cos England will be celebrating this win for months to come…they probably won’t even qualify for the Super 8s…

I expect we’ll make the finals, but won’t win THE final…

Our best chance would be to meet the Kiwis in the final…they very rarely beat us, yet have a pretty good record against most other teams.

Kiwis aren't minnows.

They're a decent catch, ~ unless you're an angler who likes to tell tall tales about long fish.

But then, you were just ribbing ....

BTW Where / Who is Matthew these days? It's no fun having to bite on the sheep jokes, etc.... Roll Eyes Big Grin

If the Kiwis aren't minnows (among the non-minnow nations), then the Windies surely aren't! They've been pretty good over the past year or more, more so than the NZers.

In the beginning, there was GoD. GoD only DoG. GoD only DoG only DoG only GoD. Ad inf.

England have every chance, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned Sri Lanka, who have just beaten India in India.
If I were a betting man I might put a few quid in Sri Lanka, but obviously I hope Englnad can triumph.

By ‘anyone’ I assume you mean ‘anyone, apart from Bangladesh, Bermuda, Canada, Ireland, Kenya, Netherlands, Scotland and Zimbabwe’.

No Symdonds for us this time. The whole team's balance is put off without him.

True, but we all know that the Yarpies will never win a World Cup.

Sri Lanka look good to me. Certainly enough fire power in the batting and bowling to win any match.

Although with the form Pak is in, they are probably going to win it.
