he is?
didn't he score 240* in the other series?
isn't he averaging about 25 lately?

Without that 240*,he would have averages about 30 in that series. He is averaging about 37 for this series on much more bowler friendly pitches(except for this last one).
I dont think Sachin's 2003 series was half as good as the one he had in Aus '99(or the one in Aus '92) despite the fact that he averaged only 44 compared to 59 in 2003.Sometimes,numbers dont tell the whole story.

Yeah, Sachin was out of form in that 2003/4 series.
But then he came to Sydney for the last Test and...
Well, 240 is a lot of runs.
Cheers.

Both McGrath and Warne were missing in that match. Lee conceded a double ton and MacGill about 150 in the innings Tendles made his 240. Both were playing before their home SCG crowd but long before the end Brettles was being catcalled and the crowd was chanting 'Warnie, Warnie...' whenever MacDill went near the bowling crease.

Have to admit to a bit of tearing up as well.
For many cricket fans in Aust, it will be the end of an era in their lives as well.

Tearing up is understandable. But,i hope not everyone writes letters to the queen like The Supreme man. It's very disturbing.

Must admit I was also deeply disturbed by that missive. Mainly in the digestive sense.

I'd probably been the same, I'm sad to see them go in many ways - they've been in my face for the last 14 years. As it is, I'm pretty glad they wont be about in 2009 though I expect alot of whistful comments about them when the time comes...

I seem to remember a certain Steve Bucknor had a hand to play in that poor form.
