Classic case of 'superstars' not being able to handle success. They took their eye off the ball big time. You could see it in their attitude as far back as when they were touring Pakistan in 2005/06.
The way that Pietersen is playing now is indicative of a wider malaise in the England camp.
It's so obvious that the comfort zone has become far too extended. In fact, I'd say it's high time for a bootcamp, Nasser Hussain type approach. If England seriously want to win the Ashes next year, then they need to start kicking some of their players up the ar$e NOW.
