Only if the elegance is enhanced with a overt wink at silly mid on.

Geraint Jones cuts and cover drives the ball quite nicely, when willow hits leather (once in a blue moon)

Vaughan and that sweep shot (sigh).

But my favourite has to be Pietersen smacking it straight back past the bowler. Now that's elegant..

As someone once said: "If you've got nothing nice to say about anybody - come and sit by me."

What, no Malinga????

I've never seen, or heard of, a spin bowler who could be defined as elegant. In fact i don't think its possible - unless your concept of elegance is very different to mine.

IMO Harmison's action is not at all elegant. I would nominate Sajid Mahmood though.

For me, Laxman tops the list of batsmen. Vaughan's pretty good though.

There's something about the grunt needed to get the ball to the other end without the help of a fast run up that doesn't appear elegant.

Warne really throws his shoulder into it for instance. Tony Grieg imitated a windmill.

I recall Bedi as being relatively smooth, as was Sobers but i wouldn't use the word elegant.

I think Colin Blythe was renowned for elegance, but it might have been mainly Neville Cardus romanticising.

Cardus? romanticising? Surely not.

I'd forgotten that Blythe had that reputation.

Another good reason to build a time machine.

Panesar's bowling is pretty elegant. Plenty of players have elements of elegance.
