Since central contracts, the argument that England's bowlers are relatively over-worked surely loses all force.

Moreover the 139 ODI's played by England in the present decade are well below the 182 played by Australia, so that point doesn't stand up either.

Of course it could be worth conjecturing that all this is just one giant conspiracy by Eng cricket.

Flintoff, S Jones and Vaughan are all totally fit and are just resting up for Nov 23.

Its worth noting the Ashes triumphs Down Under of 1954-55 and 1986-87 both were in the back of home defeats by a team from the subcontinent. 1970-71 was also followed by a home draw with Pak and a loss to Ind!

So might be a good time to back Pak for this current series.

Ironically central contracts might be part of the problem since it seems rare for the Eng players to get totally match fit from playing.

I think its a blessing in disguise for Flintoff having this ankle injury, because everyone was worried about him burning out before the Ashes. Now he has about a 4 month lay off.

As for Simon Jones or Giles I wouldnt rule them out for the Ashes just yet. Who know with Vaughn it could be a bit of a smokescreen with the true extent of his injury. Also when is Anderson due back from his injury?

A fan of Mike Walker!!!!!

I hear Ben Hollioake's death is also a smokescreen. He has actually been spending the last 4 years honing his skills in the outback. He will play in the first test.
