I think a great bowler like mcgrath would have loved bowling on that lords deck.
Was a great cricket wicket because only the best pace bowlers got something out of it, the hacks like sami were shown up for what they really are.

after years of being told that Indian batsman were just useless against Pak bowlers I have no sympathy for their current woes.
To suggest India have resolved theirs is a bit far fetched - I think we have resolved it about 50% - but with Sehwag's current form - I think we could be back to square one fairly soon.
A consistent solid opening pair is the hallmark of any quality team - as much as a good bowling attack.
Pakistan should simply take three - and give them a solid two year run regardless of performance. With the threat of being deselected constantly hanging over their heads - its another unwelcome pressure point.

India have Sehwag probably one of the best opening batsmen in the world atm ontop of that he is very special he can score runs quickly and make them big, as for Pak we have yet to find even one stable opening batsman apart from Taufeeeq the rest we have tried all average less than 35.

didn't Salman Butt show promise, delivered and then was dropped for no explicable reason. Then he's brought back in and his natural play is curbed because of the threat of deselection just in case he gets low scores.
Can't be good.

Anyone able to name the 12 opening pairs we've used? I could only get 11.
Hayden/Langer Hayden/Hussey Hayden/Jaques Hayden/Gilchrist Hayden/Slater Hayden/Taylor Slater/Blewett Slater/Elliott Slater/Taylor Taylor/Elliott Taylor/Waugh ?
