Ha ha, how bad are the Kiwis?

So much for Fleming being a good skipper, that was a joke.

Well, I'll say "Congratulations". You wouldn't really say it was well done.

A finally on the second last ball !

Can't understand why England made such a heavy weather of it.

It happens when you've forgotten how to win.

That sucked(stoopid hope carrot).

Happy with our bowling though.

Bond didn't bowl out - so assumably he has twanged something.

It will be hard to drop Patel when some of the other players return.

Welcome victory against the NZers- good to see Freddie and Jimmy showing a bit of form.

How much longer do these pointless games go on for?

Trembler will probably play a couple as they are likely to rest Freddie at some point.

Er, Yeeehaaaahh?

NZ must be really crap to lose to us.

Best bit of the BBC commentary....

quote:

Freddie hits the winning run straight down the pitch - ENGLAND HAVE WON A GAME OF CRICKET! Dame Kiri te Kanawa, Peter Jackson, Neil Finn, Sir Edmund Hillary, Jonah Lomu - we have beaten them all! Helen Clark, can you hear me? Your boys took one hell of a beating! By three wickets...with one ball to spare...sorry, it's just been so long...

Didn't see the game but i can't understand why bond only bowled 8 overs in such a tight contest?

And why on earth would fleming have a part timer bowling at the death over his strike bowler?

So it's obvious then. Get rid of the weakest link KP and England can win. Razz

I felt that without the burden of KP's extravagant stroke play, Flintoff was able to play his own game without competing with his teammate for runs and crowd attention. But its good to see Andrew has found a rich vain of form because England will certainly need it. New Zealand must be kicking themselves though.

New Zealand will probably want to play two spinners in the West Indies, anyway.

A bowling attack of Bond, Mills, Oram, Vettori and Patel would work on slow pitches.

He might have been injured?

In Englands next game I'd be very tempted to rest Dalrymple because he hardly participated in Hobart, and instead give Tremlett a try on a fast pitch in Brisbane. However, with Vaughans bad knee resurfacing you'd have to think they will stick with Dalrymple.

He was injured and off the field at the time.

Nope, he had a sore back.

Believe me, the whole of NZ is waiting the results of a scan today. Fleming says he hopes it is just stiffness.

Also, Astle would probably have been a safer bet at the death, who knows? What about Franklin?
