Just heared the family of murdered teenager Ben Kinsella have set up a fund and website to raise awareness about knife crime. The 16-year-old was stabbed to death in north London in the early hours of Sunday morning.Just goes to show how easy it is for situation to get out of hand.No one saw this coming and could have prevented it.
When bex and mo had their tobbaco incident, what was bec's first thought - revenge. Is it really normal for young people to blindly pick up a knife and use it with no regrets.Ok it's just a belt you say but what if mo had returned to the bedroom and during a struggle another young life was lost. Another statistic, another headline. Mario nominated mo because of water on the floor and turned a blind to this - god help his employees.
Their is that can be said to the Kinsella family for their loss... please BB ensure that no other family's have to suffer like they have.

Knives also cut food and many other things....knives do not kill people mindless morons do.

We live in a society where a lot of young people have no empathy for other people, violence should be treated as a disease and it is society that needs treating.

also, remember these people who use knives to hurt and kill have PARENTS and they MUST be held responsible too for their ' children's' actions !!

Agree, far too many people have kids just because they biologically can and have no sense of responsibilty or parenting skills.

Your heart goes out to these families doesn't it.

Unfortunately this useless excuse for a government have squandered money and not put enough into high security jails where killers like these can spend the rest of their lives.

Carrying knives should carry at least a 5 year jail term and if they kill, we should be like the US, they die in jail.

It really breaks your heart, i think many factors have brought us to this situation, fathers who abandon their kids, IMO, has a huge impact on young men, I MUST SAY NOT SINGLE MOTHERS, being a parent is the MOST important and difficult thing we do and doing it on your own must be very difficult, we should not allow these men to walk away from their kids.

My heart goes out to the Family of Ben Kinsella. Maybe it is really unappropriate to tie his cruelly premature death in with a silly game show.

RIP Ben. XXX

I don't know how anyone of us can look at this post without comment. Knife crime could affect any of us or our loved ones. Why do so many in our country decide to stab somebody bacause they find it so hard to articulate an argument. Anybody who hears about any crime should call crimestoppers immediately they will not ask for your name etc don't let the baddies win just like we don't in the BB house RIP Ben x

Thankfully, we currently have 'Disarming Britain' to keep this subject in our mind. Personally, I wish it was more 'brutal' in its presentation. It's being mostly presented by 'adults' from a position of 'security'. Nobody is really listening to the perspective of what is an increasing social problem from the angry, frustrated, bored and hopeless teenagers (and older) creating the problem. It's so easy to blame the perpetrator and also add responsibility of the parents onto this - but no-one evolves through such a tiny percentage of 'input'. Society is as responsible for the formation of individual, as much as an individual is responsible for themselves.

If we truly want solution to the sad and sorrowful, ugly symptoms appearing in our society, we have to look and listen seriously to the problem saying what the problem is, rather than us telling it what it is.

Two examples of the sucess of 'listening' is in Switzerland with its major drug problem and (often devastating) associated crimes and illness. They introduced a wide-spread free clinic service, with clean needles and methodone on request. Crime, AISS - plummeted. In Britain, a hardened (but, have to use the word) 'miraculously' tranformed ex-con now works with the judicial/prison/rehab system and, slowly but surely, they are getting positive results with 're-offending'.

However, to keep this thread in the context of BB, DON'T assume that such a potentially sinister scenario can't or won't raise its head.

Grand Fratello, Italy's version of BB was pulled off air several years ago, when one housemate threatened another with a knife. As far as I'm aware, it has not been resumed in the years since.

I don't see how you could relate Big Brother to someones pain and misery.

What Mohammed went through with the belt does NOT in the slightest compare to what Ben's family are going through. So linking this incident to Mohammeds belt is utterly pointless.

Darnell won, Rachel fans just don't like to admit it.

Aimee, I hope you dont think i was blaming single mothers, I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT, I just think that, In many cases, troubled teen boys are missing a father that they actually NEED in their lives, this blame lies firmly at the feet of the absent father.

Unfortunately this lad was one of many and being the Brother of an ex-Eastenders' star doesn't make him any different from the others.
That's not to say his death wasn't a tragic waste of a young life.

So terribly sad, there's also been another incident in New Cross where 2 French Students have been stabbed to death, one of them no less than 196 times!!!!!

It's so scary the lack of respect in society, and i'm sure any campaign can only be a good thing.

I know this is veering slightly off the subject, but, I got really annoyed after watching the news today.

MPs all turned up to vote to keep their 2nd house allowances BUT only A HANDFUL of them could be arsed to turn up and have a debate on knife crime a few months ago....very sad.

RIP Ben Angel
