Morning all and see you've got 3 pages. A joke or the start of one, which came to me other day and will see if I can remember it. Lost and found columns of a newspaper: Husband looking at paper says, "I've lost my sense of humour" wife at the mirror applying thick face cream, and eyes protectives says nothing Husband looks up, sees the creamed face, Husband looks at his paper again in the Found section and laughs Wife looks up asks what he's laughing at, and he tells her how she made him laugh thanks to the Lost and Found columns. The punchline did come to me too, but could have gone astray a bit, but it's how his wife looked with all that cream on her face. ok....permission to laugh at the above joke is granted. The joke came to me in a flash other day but I may have lost a bit of it, but I did try to make a joke didn't I. Marks out of 10? Go on be daring I won't mind, and would even settle for 1 or even 1/2 of 1. Mind you, a bit late for jokes innit. Hope you all have a good day Monday. nn C4 too. ()()

Afternoon guys, and that joke didn't make me laugh either, as it didn't come out the way I wanted to., but no matter for now as I have a question for you all, which is more important. I'm disconcerted, and because of what happened yesterday I wrote it down, as well as writing down what happened at lunchtime today. The gist of the situation is as follows: I've asked my downstairs neightbour not to slam her back door as this flat shakes, and the plates I have on a plate rack screwed to the Kitchen wall, move forward. The back door was slammed very hard at lunchtime today and I had to move the plate firmly back again. She told me some time ago, she has to slam the door because it sticks, and whether that's true or not I can't say, but she doesn't have to slam that door, and could close it firmly without slamming it. I started writing it down as I was all for telling the Housing, and things of what tenants do has to be written down first, with dates and times, which is what the Housing requires. If you just ring them and tell them such and such they don't take that into consideration, so writing down all incidents has to be done. I know I could take down the rack, but she or whoever would still slam that door, and the flat would still shake. My conundrum is if I write to the Housing and they write to her, I'll still get it in the neck with her, but not saying anything to them makes me feel unsettled. She's not one for listening to what you say, as I tried that before and she was answering me back as I tried to explain....so there's the problem, and any thoughts would be appreciated as I hate feeling unsettled, and if it continues then I'm off and I will go to the Housing then, which is something I want to avoid. Thanks

i'd maybe try talking to her again if you can and try to show her how frustrated you are, without obviously seeming rude to her.
otherwise if she doesn't heed your warning, then its her problem and worth reporting.

That's what I did first time, Ray, talked to her in normal tones, and she said she'd get the men to fix her door, but that didn't stop door slamming. I don't want to get involved with her at all, but she's making it very difficult for me not to get involved. Most of the time she's not here, but if I do get a chance to see her I will ask her again re the door, but the people who she allows to stay in her bedsit, you don't want anything to do with, believe me you wouldn't. So, it's not just one problem, it's a whole field of them and I'm stuck. -sigh Thanks for replying.

oh right. i understand the problem a bit more. makes it more difficult if she's not around and it seems like she doesnt really care too much about solving the problem. if you had an email address for her, you could maybe pester her a bit more with less personal contact. one thing i might say is im not too sure how much Housing can and will do to help. hope it all goes well for you whatever happens

Hiya Ray...back and things are about to be resolved tomorrow. Had a chat to a friend here about how I felt and what had happened, and she thought I should tell the Housing, and that's what's going to happen tomorrow, and will let you all know how it went then, but speaking to someone face to face helped a lot. Talking to you too helped and glad I had someone to talk to, and I'm crying again.....
