Ok leaving asside the questions and the ability of the female lead to act, what is wrong with Ashes To Ashes?

I think it has the 3 following problems :-

1. It could never compete with Life On Mars
2. They have gone OTT on the music
3. You don't feel any sympathy for bknickers

Any other ideas?

i agree its nowhere near as good as LoM,but ive enjoyed it the 80s music,(although im sure a couple of tunes that have been played,wasnt out until after 81).

is there going to be a second series,as i love gene hunt

It has grown on us.
Sometimes I think that you have to learn the ideas as they go along.

(She is still miscast though)

I tried to watch it, cos nothing else on but I can't.

Mrs Joe seems to think that Tom Quinn is in the next one.

The problem with it that I have is that if she's such a damn expert on Sam Tyler and Gene Hunt why didn't she look up their 1970's police records back in 2007 then she'd know whether they were all a bloody figment of her imagination or not.

That last episode was drack. However, now that we know Gene Hunt has signed up for a new series, we may allow ourselves a little speculation.
The constants are Gene Hunt and David Bowie. Linnear progressions are time, and the inability of the lead to act.
The obvious title therefore is Black Tie, White noise set in the early 90's. Surely the actor to go back in time is Corrie's very own Dev.

Unless the untimely disappearence of Adam from Neighbours is somehow relevant.
