The woeful singers have started, and one was so bad, worst I've ever heard, and all I can say some peeps are very brave to stand there and think they have a voice.

I'm not sure if the American Idol thread got moved last year to the reality TV forum .... I know dandini is a big fan of AI .... I would imagine once the show is underway, she will be runing a thread about it somewhere

i love american idol, only watched some of it tonight though, ive sky plussed what i missed

ooooh I might watch, however, I was disappointed by the poor quality of the numpties last year.

I tend to prefer American Idol. I think there is more talent over there.

The only thing I don't like is all the family god stuff in the waiting room. Just SING dammit!

i think when american idol gets down to the top lot-it really shows x factor up as a complete joke-can you imagine leon v fantasia or jennifer hudson-carrie underwood and the like ?

Just noticed ITV2 tonight, more auditions at 10pm, but I'll be watching Hijack, and can't see any repeats of AI. Pity.

Hiya Horse...think the US peeps are more hungry for fame as if it's the be all and end all, and put everything into their perfomances, the ones who can sing I mean. Also more people to chose from than XFactor. They are also very vocal when told they can't sing, and the TV goes into overdrive with bleeps.

Auditions

Heard Drew the farmer singing and he isn't that bad, and quite wholesome, and is through for now that is.

Renaldo is funny, quite an act all dressed in white with hat and cape...."I am your brother" etc etc...not a great voice, but some act. Like the way Randy and Paula joined him on his song.

Mariah Carey looks younger than I thought she'd be, and a nice dog too.

David Archuleta first...and sounds a bit nasally in those first notes. The only difference are those curly notes. Randi thought it was the ball. It was ok.

Carly next.........and so far hasn't shouted, as this song could go that way. Think she's doing a great job, with all the different tones. Although some of the high notes aren't solid enough.. Sang with passion I thought.


Si has it in for her again....think he wanted her to shout, instead of the softer notes she sang.

Syesha next.......that's a lovely gold dress she's wearing, with matching earrings. Singing it soulfully, and a great ending.

Paula thinks she's smart, and it was unbelieveably magical, and Si said it was very good technically. He's right in one thing, people might not know this song, and I don't. Difficult one to master I'd say and she did very well.

I was going to make another Thread in General but couldn't do it...and time C4 fixed things, as they let other Threads there and some should be vanished to the outer limits of space! How about it C4...if I can't have a Thread then others can't either, right!

Love that girl in the ads about Pizza, cos she gives me a smile.


Brooke next.......Hero.....on the piano, don't think this is her style though, as I find it dull. Think Brooke struggled with it. Yeah, agree with Si...something was missing in the middle, and felt that too.



Kristy Lee coming up.....very slow, but showing the power in her voice. Good stage perfornance from her too.


Paula said she's smart too, and she's blown away, but Randi wasn't. No chills from Si.

David Cook.....looks scruffy for one thing, and singing the song in a low key start, not impressed. The higher parts sounded ok. Not one of the greats imo.

Randi loved it. I must have missed something somewhere, as I've heard great, and that wasn't. Si liked him too. David can do better than this song.


Jason next.........liked the hoo hoo at the start, and not a bad song to hear. Sings with emotion and I liked it.


Check it out baby!...says Randi..and he didn't get it, a Luha on the beach, so what Randi, I'd go there too. Si agrees with Paula! wow! He liked it I reckon and he's right the guys won the night, or some of them did
