Hi OHG...nice to see you talking your usual "rock of sense talk" celebrating ST. Patricks day is only another excuse for us Paddies to go on the lash.....have a Guinness ?

Its better to burn out than simply fade away....probably not good for the environment though !

Darnell was yapping on about it and they decided to do something for him (with Dale BTW surpassing himself by showing surprise that the War of Independence was fought against us and that we don't celebrate it).

Schools have to tow the pc line when it comes to teaching anything seen as pro english, hence our kids no nothing about their cultural past.

Totally agree.

Actually i did a paper in college about St. Georges day, that turned out to be a rant, and the criteria did ask for my personal opinion so i gave it to them Big Grin I got top marks too.

Britain is not Britain anymore, the laws are always being changed to suit the needs of other cultures, it seems like Britain is being washed away by the other countries. Soon enough there will be no Great Britain. I can honestly ay that there is nothing great about Britain anymore too.

I hate the way WE "the Brits" are being totally immersed in US culture and traditions, Ive even seen people having "thanks giving" parties...and they have no idea what its about,
BB is based in the UK and watched mainly in the UK, why the HELL should we celebrate AMERICAN INDEPENDANCE DAY???
why not just tear up the union jack and replace it with the star spangled banner?
IF I was in that house and they did a task or threw a party celebrating the US independance day I would refuse point blank to take part,
THIS IS BRITAIN AND NOT THE USA, GRRRRR, Mad

Any excuse for a party.Wink
But seriously we are not celebrating Independance day we are joining in as a tribute to the Americans.

Maybe we should be more patriotic. Since when have we gone all out to celebrate St. Georges Day or even D Day. Us Brits can at time be to much stiff upper lip to really throw a great party. Maybe that is why we join in so much.
