I think I figured it out and I'm ever so thankful. Big Grin

I know some people say you its your own fault for defaulting and that but if you CAN claim it back why wouldnt you? If the banks were in no way at fault they would not give people money back when threatened with a court case

Well quite, I was expected to pay £38 for a letter and £28 maintainance charge (whatever that is)

I have to laugh when I've been charged yet all they do is let me know on my actual statement so the 'administration' charge of 30 odd quid is all of a printed line on a letter I get monthly anyway

I say I laugh....

Slightly off topic but an interesting fact - you are statistically more likely to get divorced than you are to change your bank!!

Ive accidentally not had enough for two direct debits lately.. my fault I know as I tend to put all my wages into my savings accoutn for higher interest and I forgot to transfer it in time but they charged me £30 a time.

So they are still charging these ridiculous charges. And I have an internet account so I dont even get any letters!

if you make a mistake like that and it is unusual for you to default then the chances are they will refund it if you write to them!!

thats ridiculous!

It's true though Bagel, I nearly had a heart attack, I only have £60 a week while I'm off sick. I got the maintainance charge back, but the £38 for the overdraft I had to try and get back from the ppl who made me overdrawn.
