I got £1200 back about 2 yrs ago & have recently done a claim for my daughter & my son in law & they got there's back.
I got a £37 charge on my account for note having the £4.99 pet insurance in my account, there was about £4.50 in but the bank wouldn't cover it but charged me. I know the money should have been there but I can't see how charging someone £37 is justified. From this charge they also charged me £28 for then being over drawn & a £12 interest charge for being over drawn in that month. So for not covering around 50p they have in total charges me £77, now where's the justice in that.
This caused me to fall behind with other bills so I ended up getting charged again & again hence the amount I claimed back. I was at the time on carers allowance & it made it very hard.

Slightly off topic but an interesting fact - you are statistically more likely to get divorced than you are to change your bank!!

oh

I'm glad you did that Bagel, I wouldn't dare. Smile

hev has to realise that if she shouts at peeps with them exclamation marks...she is going to get shouted at back...I have explained all this to her Smile

I'm not being funny Bagel but I have always got on with you and treated you with respect therefore it is slightly upsetting to see that you can't show the same level of respect back particularly when you can see the type of treatement i am already getting at the minute from the forum bullies!!

Sorry If I have upset you hev...I do not gossip or talk behind backs and I was pointing out to someone that I have explained to you about the exclamation marks. You chose to ignore my advice and that is fine, I was trying to help at the time. I always go out of my way to give you a hug if I see you because I know you do not get many. I do respect you and as I have said before, if you are going to challenge peeps on here, you must expect to be challenged back. as for bullying you said I have seen, I can not comment because I do not go in every thread you post in and you know if I saw you being bullied, I would say something. I do know that someone on here tonight did not post back to you because you would have shouted at them. so is that ok? for you to accuse and blame, but they cant retaliate? if you think you are getting bullied on here, please report it, after all, that is why we have moderators on here. When you said "him" in your earlier post, if you are referring to who I think you are, I believe you to be mistaken, it may be his way of posting, but a bully he is not. Wave

I appreciate your apology!

As for challenging people I have stopped replying to nthe two people in question yet they seem unable to stop posting pointless comments at me every time i post something i ave repoted them to the mods but nothing seems to get done so i have given up!

As for posting in exclamation marks that is my right and as far as I am concerned shouting is when you post in caps not exclamation marks!!

An exclamation mark or exclamation point is a punctuation mark: ! It is usually used after an interjection or exclamation to indicate strong feelings or high volume, and generally marks end of a sentence.
that comes across as shouting to me hev, which ever way you want to dress it up, it means you are putting a point across that you want heard, same as caps really

of course its your right to post whatever you wish, as it is with everyone else on this forum.

I think this is unfair. THe banks will claw back the money they have paid out somehow, and those of us who have been careful with our money and never had to pay charges will be hit!

Yes it is your right Hevva but I was wondering why you would feel the need to keep using them after every post unless of course you do it to try and wind people up they dont serve any other purpose do they ?

What annoys me ate the credit card charges just for using your card. I work for a company and we charge 2% of the cost to pay by card. there is no upper limit. so if you buy a holiday costing £2000.00 pund then you will pay an extra £40 to pay by credit card. how emabrrased do you think I am Red Face

Banks make vast profits this is not much to them.

They have broken the law with their charges and people are only claiming back what the banks have illegally taken. This is why it was taken to court and the banks have lost.

These payments are not 'fines' for being overdrawn but are supposed to be what it has cost the bank in administration charges to send out letters. This has been deemed to be £5 or £6 pounds not the £25 to £30 the banks charge. Someone in the banking world obviusly at some point thought it would be a good idea to ripoff people struggling fincially in this way and now they are having to pay the money back.

i transfered £5 from my bank account into my betting account, this caused me to be overdrawn by £2.45.

This has grown into a debt of £296, all in bank charges. I take great pleasure in laughing down the phone at them. Laugh

Why allow me to be overdrawn in the first place !!!!!!!! Confused

i don't... i work in a bank and if someone swears at me and threatens me with court i say i'll look into it and a week later send them a letter outlining the terms and conditions they agreed to when they opened their account. Be nice to me and say yes it was a genuine error and i'll do all i can to at least get you a partial refund

i know this is out of date, but tbh if it wasn;t for charges you would have to pay for every single bank account out there
