Ok i no this sounds incredibly sad but im addicted i cant help it, ive just bought the Sims teen style and everytime i build or enter a house all the walls do this flashy red thing that after a while hurts the eyes how can i stop it?

On your main control panel (bottom left) you should have an option button for choosing how walls display i.e. walls up, walls down, walls cutaway etc. maybe there? Otherwise it sounds as though there might be something not quite right. Can't be 100% certain though as I don't have the teens bit.

OMG!!!!! I love sims I have the teen one too..just bought it a few weeks ago as it goes. I'm addicted too...you should see the family tree!!! I've never had flashing walls though...it's fine with mine...if Fluffy's suggestion doesn't work you could try the games forum |

I just love the sims. I had it for the playstation but its much better on the pc

When I bought it I thought I was buyin the Playstation one...but when I opened it when I got home it was the PC one. Does the playstation one have more options or something? The back of hte box has a boat house? I love it though...one of my sims burned to death a couple of months ago...I wasn't too good after it....I tried to get the father to plead for her but they had a bad relationship coz he took up with some floozy...so there was nothing I could do  I take such care of them...you hear stories of people letting them run themselves ragged and stuff...but I just can't do it to them  |

I've had a few mishaps along the way too. One of my nannies flambed herself! Another of my sims (who was pregnant) kept on stopping and waving at me and telling me how hungry she was and I kept trying to get het to get some food, but she kept puting it down and wasting more eating time by telling me she was soooo hungry. Eventually she starved to death. I tried to plead for her, but to no avail. So I just ditched that session and reloaded from earlier and was successful in getting her to eat this time. So she's still alive now and the baby is thriving. Last night I fell asleep while it was running and when I woke I found it was 2 days later and that the parents hadn't gone to work the previous day and the teenagers hadn't gone to school or work the previous day either. Result being that everyone except the father got fired. LMAO It'd kill me to see one of them starve to death...you can get cheats and stuff which I use sometimes to fulfill the needs if they're heading out to work or if the headmaster calls and they're tired or something...but it's so much better panicking over them. I started off with two sims and a child and I'm now running out of space in Pleasantville. I've left it running before too...when I came back the mother'd wet herself and the father'd smashed up the dolls house  They're all sleeping with neighbours behind their spouses backs though and it's so funny when you get them to gossip coz they'll gossip about the affairs. The teen one is brilliant, it's my first expansion pack and it's has so many other options to it. I love it |

I haven't used any cheats (but I know where to get them if I want them)unless you call getting some money trees and the'Elixir of Life' cheats. Which I suppose they are really.

I tried Pleaesantville but I can only go into empty buildings. If I try to go into an occupied building it freezes up. Yet I can go into occupied buildings in Veronaville! |

no way!!!! Me thinks you should have brought your disk back to the shop Fluffy. I've tried Veronaville...but it just hasn't got the same appeal. I haven't tried the alien one either...apparently if you get them to look into the telescope after midnight the men get abducted and return the *ahem* family way. I've tried it but I've no patience to wait. |

This all sounds very intriguing, and you all seem to be able to do loads with your sims i got my daughter the sims pets one for xmas last year she gets poodled off cos she says she dont no how to play it. i did it the other day and it got a bit hectic the woman got a job doing a crossing warden, i turned it off after that cos she came in from school and she says im too "old" to be playing games,( my daughter not the sim )LOL i would love to find out how to do it properly i would put it in my room and keep it myself.

Yes sadbeeach, it can get quite hectic at times. It depends on how many people you have in your (sim) household. The morre you have the more hectic it can be. The best strategy I find is to 'pause' it then checkout what everyone's doing, where they are what their needs and wants are and when everyone who has a job/school has to go. (i.e. if they work from 10 am then the car arrives about 9 and an info ballon will pop into the top right of the screen at 8 to say their car will arrive in about an hour)Once you've checked these things out you can then decide if you need to tell any of them to do things. Remember to try and keep any children doing their homework. If any of the children (but not teenagers) miss school/don't do their homework often enough the Social Worker will come and take ALL the children away, not just the one that wasn't doing their homework. Also adults have to remember to go to work regularly or they will be fired/demoted.

What I would suggest she does initially is make a new location and start off from scratch and ignore the pets as much as possible. i.e. don't play with any of them, don't buy any and lock your doors against pets. Then she can concentrate on getting to grips with the basic concepts of making a family, building a house, mooving them in and furnishing the house. Then just living! Going to school/work, making friends, (don't forget to get a phone!) falling in love, getting married, having babies, raising a family, retiring etc.She can then start involving pets at a later stage. There is a game tutorial available with the game from the main menue. have a look at that. It's also worthwhile reading the little manual that came with the game. |

Mr Fluffy Thing got it for me for Christmas last. I don't know where he got it and it was a while before I discovered that Pleasantview wasn't working properly. As far as I undrstand you can be abducted by aliens in any of the Game locations, not just Strangetown. One of my sims got abducted while she was stargazing and that was from a location I had started myself.
