a bird fell down my chimmy and its stuck behind my gas fire,, it is banging the hell out of the pipes,, i called rspca and they said i would be charged ,,becasue they have to get gas company in to turn off my gas then out it back on ,, sorry i love animals but im not paying ,,
im waiting for bf to come home and hopefully take the fire off the wall ,, bloody rspca ,,thought they helped animals |

thats terrible, but its coz of gas health and safty, they aren't allowed to fiddle with your pipes honey

well i dont want them messing with my pipes thankyou very much  i understand that but i shouldnt have to pay for it ,, i just could leave it to die and not care ,, just hope my bloke can get the fire off  |

This happened to my brother but I can't remember how he sorted it.
I don't think just anybody can take a gas fire off the wall. Be careful. |

We had the same problem, just loosened the fire and move it very slightly so there was a little gap. We didn't have to disconnect the gas.
We then closed all the curtains bar one where we left a window open, went out of the room and when we came back the bird had gone. Just make sure it has got out before you screw it back. well i had the council come last week to service the fire and he just took the front off and away came the fire off the wall ,, so think its one of those fires ,, |

update ,, the bird is free ,, my brill bloke took the fire off and away the little bird went through the window ... thank god for that

Was gonna say: turn the fire on full. The heat and rising thermal air will both encourage the bird to fly bck up the chimney and provide an upward air current to assist it. Probably |
