My daughter is 20 months old and we've just had to move her into a bed as she was become a dangerous Houdini in her cot. She has been brilliant at going down at 7pm, but is now waking up between 3.30 - 4am, coming in to us and refusing to stay in bed. We religiously put her back to bed as per Supernanny's technique, but she will fight it and keep getting up until the alarm goes off for us to go to work. Any ideas?!

Toddlers do wake up early, and I would imagine, especially, if you put them to bed early.
My son used to wake up at 3-4 when he was 2, I just used to get up with him, feed him and wait for his nap so I could rest, too. This stage of early waking will pass as everyhing else. Patience.

Thank you. Always good to know she isn't the only one and that it will pass!

my daughter used to get up at 4.30 - 5am till she started nursery at three yrs. my partner and i took urns getting up with her. like your little un she went to sleep by 6.30 - 7pm with no problems, i suppose you can't have it all ways and we enjoyed our peaceful evenings.

she's 8 now and still wakes up at 6 - 6.30 but she gets her own breakfast and reads or plays with her toys till we get up. as your girl gets older see if leaving a snack like a piece of fruit and books next to the bed will stop her coming in to wake you straight away.
