Hi. My son suffered with this complaint and my daughter has it mildly. We never had a problem with shampoo so try speaking to your pharmacist. I'm sure they can recommend items without perfume.
Good luck.

Hi You really should try using Clearly Herbal Natural Baby wipes they took my teenagers eczema away and if you contact them through their website they can tell you all about a shampoo - they sent me a sample and we have never looked back. Sarah

I have exzema and can control it pretty well by not eating too much dairy especially mild and cheese although yoghurt is ok. Also by wearing gloves in winter keeps my hands from blistering. You'd might like to try more natural products. Hope you get some success soon as it's not nice having it.

my daughter has very bad eczema and both myself and my husband have it too. The problem with eczema is that a variety of things can cause it (can be certain foods for some people, or jewellery or shampoo or washing powder with others) but for most people, once the skin flares, the problem is trying to calm the skin without choosing something that's going to aggravate it further.
For washing, most people recommend Silcock's Base (buy it in big tubs in the chemist). It's a base cream that can be used as a soap and/or moisturiser. I also use it as a shampoo for my daughter but she's only one so she doesn't have enough hair to warrant a particular shampoo. Keep the skin as moisturised as possible to allow the skin to heal and protect it from further irritation. Generally only wash clothes in non-bio powders and don't bother with fabric softeners. If the irritation is particularly bad, go to your gp as you may need a prescription cream to settle the skin before the preventative measures kick in. Elave or Oilatum (available in chemists) do a good range of sensitive products and I know at least one of those ranges include shampoo.

I don't trust docters when it comes to skin problems. As a teenager |I had really bad spots fromm 11 years old. I went to the docter and was given every cream, pill, and potion going. and none worked. Eventually at 17 years old the docter gave me a different cream and when applying it i could see something happening. it was actually removing my skin as I applied it, but because i could see something happening i kept applying it as directed. I ended up doing lots of damage as my skin was peeling from my face. When the docter saw the result after just 4 days he was mortigfied and refured me to the hospital. They told me it was hormones and gave me one set of hormone balencing treatment and i have never had another spot again (now 30) my 5 week old baby has a very sensative skin . His head peels wiht babay shampoo. I now use inferderm shampoo it is in the baby section in boots, have had no problems since, it is very gentil and adds moisture to dry skin conditions. Hope this helps
