Please can someone help my son is just under 2 and a half and since he was 2 I decided that I would try to potty train him. Whilst it was warm in april he went about with no clothes on and went onto the potty himself, with me just using nappies at the night time. However over the last couple of months, unless I remember to take him to the toilet every hour/ hour and a half he will just wet himself, making no indication to get to the potty or even ask for it, unless he wants a poo then he tells me and we get ther ok. Until a couple of months ago he would still sit on the potty whilst having no bottoms on, however now wether hw is wearing clothes or not he will just wee. It is really getting me down and I don't now what to do, also if he is with me (his mummy) he will let me take him to the toilet public or not, however if he is out with his daddy or grandparents, he won't let them take him, it's as if he has a phobia about men's toilets.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,I am determined not to put him back in nappies, but I am out of ideas

He is still very young and although some children at this age are clean he may just need a little longer. I would give a while and then try again. The fact he asks for a poo is a good sign that he understands.

Hiya,
I was told this tip....sounds crazy, but orks! You need to get 3 or 4 ping pong balls and colour them with bright colours (highlighters work - each one a different colours work best). Just chuck them in the toilet! The boys think it's a really fun game and keep going back for 'target practice'! Even the grownups give it a shot (even though they'll never really admit....)

Give it a shot!

The thing that worked for me was making a big star chart and buying lots of coloured stars. I told him he could stick a star on each time he went in his potty. It worked like magic. Mind you he was nearer 3 at the time! Big Grin
