curly I know you have put a lot of effort into this, well done ! Do you fancy writing to the BBC about this ? I watched BBC 1 Breaskfast News this morning around 9 am, they had Ms Verity on the programme together with the producer of Ch 4 (no apologies there then !) and a woman talking about cot death (didn't do a very convincing job, they should have sent someone a bit more assertive and confident, it just did not come across how dangerous it can be to put babies into separate rooms from birth). Any way, when they showed Verity, the dreaded words "MATERNITY NURSE" were written under her name.
Claire Verity does little to enlighten people on maternity nurses. In this country my label is such "Maternity Nurse"however in my country NZ I am a Karitane Mothercraft Nurse - a qualification respected and endoresed by midwives and in both Australia and NZ we are registered in the same union as midwives. Maternity Nurse title in this country covers a wide range of eithe experience or qualification and sadly like the title "Nanny" there are many who lack the training and knowledge to teach mothers how to care for their newborns.
