I have been potty training my son for last 8 months and he keeps pooing his pants and will not use potty. tried everything - rewards, praise, discussion. am worried he will lose playgroup place if this carries on. any suggestions ?
My advice is just to have some patience. My daughter is at a nursery that requests they are potty trained prior to attendance, but this hasn't deterred them from letting her remain at the nursery.
My daughter only tells me she wants to poo when she's doing it or when it's done. Don't ask me why. When she wants to wee I get plenty of notice, but not so for the poos. I give her praise whenever she tells me she wants to wee, then does it, and she really enjoys the praise, and I'd do the same for the poos if I knew in advance, but I guess when kids are ready they'll get round to it.
I don't think you should worry about the nursery too much - if they're anything like my daughters nursery, they'll gladly put up with the inconvenience in order to keep collecting the nursery fees!
